New standards for fluorescent lighting will make older fixtures obsolete.  Older T-12 fixtures will no longer be repairable once the current supply of T-12 ballasts are exhausted.  As of July 1, 2010, manufacturers are no longer allowed to make the replacement T-12 ballasts.  Therefore, all repairs will require a T-8 or T-5 upgrade or expensive fixture replacement. 

Upgrading fixtures to T-8 lamps, and energy efficient T-8 ballasts, will reduce energy costs and result in a less heat producing fixture.  These fixtures are the perfect compliment to homes and commercial spaces.  A change in lamps can also produce a more "employee friendly" light that will help employees become more productive and feel less fatigued throughout the workday.
